Plot Summary :
Being an assassin leaves marks on one’s soul. Carson is the proof of that. There is no light in his life until he sees an angel . Hailey is a working waitress in the place he visits and there is something about her that makes him want to talk to her again and again. But Carson knows what will happen to someone as pure as her if he makes her enter his world. Her light will be gone and nothing will be the same. He tries to stay away but that is even tougher than he expected.
When danger knocks on the door and puts them both in a life death situation , Carson has no choice but to come clean. No choice but to tell her about all his lies and hope that she somehow forgives him for it because he cant’ lose his light. She is the only good thing he has and he will keep her no matter what.
Overall Opinion :
This series by Michelle Heard just keeps on getting better and better! I am loving every single second of it! The characters are amazing and so is the plot. This one had a few triggering scenes which I will mention above for you guys so keep that in mind.
Carson is definitely one of my favourite heroes in this world and I love his cute broody ass. Hailey was the perfect spitfire for him. She was cute and bubbly and I loved the way she brightened his dull existence. One more person I always love more than anything is Alexie. He is the backbone of the family and I can’t wait until the ruthless older assassin finally gets his own queen!!
I would highly recommend this standalone dark romance to all the dark romance loving people! Trust me , it’s one of the best , read it now!
