From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

Review :

Okkkkk…

This book was a bit unexpected. I liked it but I did not love it. I found 3 major issues with it that kept bothering me and eventually made me lose interest in this book. I will elaborate it below.

The first one being the long gap between the main characters. I hate long gaps between the main characters. Casteel was kidnapped in the third book and he reunited with poppy almost at 50% of this book and the way I dragged to there lmao. The book was utterly boring for me until casteel arrived. The whole reason why I read this series was because I loved the dynamic between casteel and poppy and the author horribly deprived us of that and for that I have given this book a 2 star rating. The first half of the book seemed very very boring to me and in my opinion the author could have wrapped all that up in a couple of chapters and given us more poppy casteel but nah, she kept dragging it.

Now the second reason is Keiran. I never had any issues with The Joining. The way it was mentioned, I knew it would happen. The author had been hinting about it for years. I like the dynamic between Keiran, poppy and Casteel. However what I didn't like was the fact that the author never made clear about what will happen to their relationship. Like I know Keiran cares a lot for both casteel and poppy so I am scared about how he will be neglected. Or will he be a part of the thruple? I am just confused. Like I don't want him to be alone but at the same time I am scared that him being there will ruin the dynamic of the main couple for me. Part of me wished that the author never had the joining because it will complicate things for me a lot now. I hope she somehow manages to turn things around for Keiran without killing him off.

Now the third thing was the attachment issues. I saw a lot of people saying that Poppy and Keiran were having the way of their time when Casteel was being tortured and a part of me agreed. Like they were searching for casteel and were both very very worried but I did not like the fact that the author included a couple of scenes where Keiran and Poppy come close. Like it was emotional cheating not a physical one. That is what I hated. These actions by poppy just ruined whatever love she seemed to have for Casteel. It all seemed fake.

And don't even get me started on the fact that Casteel and Poppy had a steamy session when they knew that Casteel had not bathed for a few weeks because he was kidnapped. Someone posted this in the spoiler group and now I can't move on 🤣🤣🤣 Like EW.

Therefore in my opinion the author sort of ruined a phenomenal series. I don't know why she did this and how she did this or what compelled her to do this. I will definitely be reading more books of this series, but the craziness I had for these characters, the anticipation for each book is completely gone.
