Interview Q/A
Hi Tracy!! Let us start by giving us a glimpse about your real life, including one fact about you that is hidden from public knowledge?
Hey! I’m a thirty-something married mum of one who lives in the Cotswolds in England. Prior to doing this author thing, I was a high school teacher. Random fact… I’m mostly kinda boring but I do sleepwalk and once almost flooded the bathroom and set fire to the kitchen at the same time!
Which one do you first decide when you are about to start a new book, The title, or the Storyline?
Always storyline first.
Is there any character in your books that you see as a reflection of yourself?
Nicole from Falling from Declan is the closest to me because her story is very close to my heart.
Your ‘Rosewood High’ series have completely messed up my mind and I am so obsessed with that series! Was there anything special that gave you the idea of starting this series?
We were on our way to a family holiday in Wales in June 2019 and my husband asked me an innocent book related question. I don’t remember what it was but it started Jake! I spent our entire 10 day holiday thinking about his and Amalie’s story. I tried to ignore it because I had books scheduled but they wouldn’t leave and in July I started writing!
Did you want to be an author from your childhood, or did you have any other profession in mind as a kid?
Nope, and I can’t even say English was my favourite subject!
I have a graphic design degree and then I taught before I started writing.
There are very few authors that consider giving one of their villains a story, like you did with Chelsea. What made you give Chelsea her own story?
She made me! Chelsea and Shane wouldn’t let it go, so I wrote it and prayed I could at least attempt to redeem her!
What did it feel like when you published your first book?
I had no idea what I was doing! I mostly just hoped I didn’t totally screw it up.
If you could go back in time and change one thing in your writing Career would you do it? If yes, what would it be?
OMG, so many things. I have learned so much over the past five years. There are so many things I would do differently. I dived in way too quick and wish I had spent more time learning.
Have you ever thought of trying any new genre other than M/F? Like M/M of F/F perhaps?
I do have two m/m books. Chasing Logan was my first and then Falling for Caleb in my Falling series is m/m.
What Books can we expect from you next?
The rest of the Rosewood High and the Rebel Ink series. Then I think I know what’s coming next but only time will tell!
Is there any character of yours (from the non-villain characters) that you personally dislike? (don’t murder me for this, lol!)
Haha, no I’m pretty sure I like them all in different ways. Although Titch’s brother in Trick You was a bit of a prick!
Who is your favourite author and if asked to recommend a Dark romance novel, which book would be your first recommendation?
TM Frazier. Love her King series.
I’ll admit though, I don’t read a lot these days so I’m totally behind!
Any message for the New Authors?
Take your time to set everything up before you jump in and publish.
Before we go, let us do a quick random question round:
